Zuiganji Temple: A quiet dry landscape garden stretching beyond

Zuiganji Temple Zuiganji

Zuiganji is one of Matsushima’s most important historic temples. Its present main hall was rebuilt by Date Masamune, the first lord of the Sendai domain, and completed in 1609. More than 400 years later, the National Treasure still impresses with its grand architecture and richly decorated interiors.
